Overview

RN – Ortho/Neuro, Full‑Time Nights. Sign‑on bonus available up to $10,000. Acute Care, Hospital experience highly preferred. Piedmont Eastside – Snellville, GA. Joint & Spine/Neuroscience Unit Profile (Med Surg
3).

We are a 17‑bed hybrid unit, specializing in acute CVAs and TIAs, and in post‑operative care of knee, hip, and spinal surgery patients. We also handle all types of medical/surgical patients.

Unit Environment
  • Bedside report handoff at change of shift.
  • Purposeful rounding for safety and service.
  • Quality initiatives such as pain assessment and reassessment, pressure ulcer prevention, and infection prevention for central lines and indwelling urinary catheters.
  • Unit educator to address competency, onboarding, and learning needs.
  • Charge nurse with limited patient load to facilitate daily operations.
  • EPIC electronic health record.
  • Virtual Nurses assisting with admissions and discharges.
  • Nurse Extern program.
  • Residency program.
  • CAP (Career Advancement Program).
Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse operates within the organization's policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Responsibilities include maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff to deliver quality nursing care.

Essential Functions
  • Perform patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and health history data collection.
  • Consider developmental age when assessing, treating, and educating patients and families.
  • Organize data into a plan of care, identify additional information needed, and make decisions based on identified needs.
  • Carry out the plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient care specific to the setting and identified needs, ensuring appropriateness for disease severity, condition, impairment, or disability.
  • Oversee activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identify teaching opportunities and provide resources to achieve patient educational goals.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Qualifications Education
  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing (Required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred).
Work Experience
  • No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required).
  • Nursing experience in a hospital setting (Preferred).
  • One year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure; current license in Georgia as an RN or NLC/eNLC Multistate License (Required).
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required).
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
