Job Summary

RN – Emergency Department, PRN III at Piedmont Eastside South Campus, Snellville, GA. Minimum 9 shifts per 6‑week period. 11‑bed emergency department providing timely, compassionate care for adult and pediatric patients.

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the life cycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Functions within policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth, and maintains standards of practice. Coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.

• Perform patient assessments, collecting data regarding physical, psychosocial, and health history.
• Evaluate the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
• Organize patient data into plan of care, identify additional information needed, and make care decisions based on identified needs. Identify expected patient outcomes.
• Carry out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Provide patient care specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan; ensuring care is appropriate to severity of disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
• Oversee activities of ancillary and support team members.
• Identify teaching opportunities and provide resources necessary for achieving educational goals of patients.
• Communicate issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
• Document patient care and concerns in the patient record.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (required)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible (required)
• Experience in hospital setting preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions preferred

• RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (required)
• BCLS – Basic Life Support (required)
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (preferred)
