Overview
Piedmont Eastside, Full Time Nights – Sign on bonus available up to $10,000. This 18-bed cardiac unit specializes in the care of both cardiac and vascular patients. The typical patient population in the CCU includes chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, pulmonary embolism and/or DVT, and patients who have had AAA repair or carotid endarterectomy. Our unit is an intermediate/step-down unit.
Our nursing staff work closely with cardiology and vascular teams to ensure exceptional care for our patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Functions within the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
- Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
- Performs patient assessments including data collection on physical, psychosocial, and health history.
- Evaluates developmental age of the patient during assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
- Organizes patient data into a plan of care; identifies information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs; identifies expected patient outcomes.
- Carries out the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provides patient care appropriate to the setting, identified needs, and severity of disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
- Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
- Identifies teaching opportunities and provides resources for patient education.
- Communicates issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
- Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Work Experience
- No experience required; new graduates eligible. Required
- Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN – Registered Nurse;
Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL multistate licensure. Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL multistate license. Required - BCLS – Basic Life Support. Required
- Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
