American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a General Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations, infants through geriatrics
- 46-bed unit with an average daily census of 135 and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- 14-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend work required unless otherwise specified
- Floating possible to a sister campus location
- No on-call requirements
- Utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Experience with respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage (preferred)
- Experience administering IV vasopressors
- Charting system experience required (any EMR)
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, which must be finalized prior to consideration
- No RTO or schedule changes permitted after offer or during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Compliance items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- All compliance documents due the Tuesday prior to start date
