Position SummaryAssist the Building Principal in developing and evaluating instructional programs, supporting staff, interpreting district policies, planning staffing and scheduling, collaborating on the School Improvement Plan, and leading data‑driven initiatives to improve student achievement. Exhibits strong communication, human relations, and instructional leadership skills and demonstrates enthusiasm, dedication, integrity, and a commitment to all students.
Required Qualifications- Washington State Principal and Teacher Certification
- Master’s Degree or higher
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Current valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Written and oral communication skills in both Spanish and English
- District policy and Washington State laws regarding discipline and school safety
- Best practices of instruction and assessment and ability to support staff in implementing these practices
- Ability to gather, interpret, and utilize multiple sources of assessment data and assist in the analysis of research and assessment data
- Effective communication and collaboration with parents, staff, and community concerning the school program, rules, procedures, and student management issues
- Design and implement operational structures that improve student learning opportunities
- Facilitate problem‑solving when conflicts arise between parents and school staff
- Ensure effective instructional practices and educational opportunities for all students, especially those identified as low‑performing
- Actively model culturally competent behaviors and hold others accountable
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
- Serve as a mandatory reporter for incidents of child abuse and related matters
- Adhere to federal, state, and district regulations, policies, and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Monitor, assist, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment
- Observe instruction and assessment practices
- Assist staff in developing student growth plans and evaluating effectiveness
- Provide evidence of teacher growth
- Manage staff and fiscal resources to support student achievement and legal responsibilities
- Manage human resources: assignment, hiring, professional development
- Manage fiscal resources and fulfill legal responsibilities
- Partner with the school community to promote student learning
- Communicate and collaborate with families and community partners
- Demonstrate commitment to closing the achievement gap
- Identify barriers to achievement and plan interventions
- Provide evidence of student growth in learning
Requires sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods; requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, and depth perception; requires handling educational materials and preparing technical oral and written reports; may require lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 10–20 pounds, and with assistance, supporting a student up to 150 pounds. Evaluation ProceduresPerformance evaluated annually according to District evaluation procedures, including assessment of position responsibilities.
