Darling Sons Intl, LLC has been selling and renting heavy equipment for over 25 years. We run a fleet of new and used excavators, dozers, rollers, dump trailers, graders, and more.
We’re looking for an entry-level heavy equipment tech
to help get machines ready for rental and handle basic maintenance and repairs. This is a solid opportunity for someone who wants to learn the trade, get hands‑on experience, and work alongside experienced techs in a real shop environment.
- Basic planned maintenance (fluid and filter changes, greasing, inspections)
- Checking rental equipment in and out
- Running and testing equipment to make sure it’s ready to go
- Replacing wear items as needed
- Installing attachments
- Replacing hydraulic hoses
- Helping senior techs with more advanced repairs and learning as you go
- Cleaning equipment and keeping the shop and yard organized
- Other shop tasks as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- Diesel or heavy equipment schooling

at least 1 year of hands‑on equipment repair experience - Own basic tools
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Can communicate clearly and work well with others
- Pays attention to details and takes pride in doing things right

We’re looking for an experienced heavy equipment technician to handle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet. This role is for someone who already knows their way around equipment, works independently, and takes pride in keeping machines reliable and ready to go out the door.
What you’ll be doing- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on heavy equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment
- Replace wear items, components, hoses, and assemblies as needed
- Install and set up attachments
- Perform welding and minor fabrication repairs as needed
- Operate equipment for testing and verification of repairs
- Work independently on most repairs, with support from other techs when needed
- Help guide and support entry‑level technicians when appropriate
- Keep equipment, shop, and work areas clean and organized
- Other shop‑related tasks as needed
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience working on heavy equipment or diesel machinery
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Basic welding and fabrication skills (MIG welding, repair work, light fab)
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently
- Own tools required
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop/yard environment
- Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
- Takes ownership of work and pays attention to details
