The ESC Service Technician is a key position within the Global Service organization responsible for working in a team environment to repair electronic medical devices in the Equipment Service Center. Perform repetitive, complex testing, troubleshooting, refurbishing, and repairing tasks. The role follows standard operating procedures while using discretion for judgment and interpretation. Scope of responsibilities includes all facets of calibration, quality control, and extensive troubleshooting of medical devices.

This position is 100% onsite at the Spacelabs Headquarters in Snoqualmie, WA.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complex medical devices to the sub‑assembly level.
  • Complete and process appropriate forms and documentation for equipment worked on.
  • Identify problems such as failure and set‑up problems, errors, or discrepancies.
  • Complete testing of printed circuit boards, all final assemblies and other electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and sub‑assemblies by using the appropriate test equipment and procedures applicable to each assembly prior to quality control inspection and final shipping.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and orderly conditions.
  • Monitor equipment used at bench and an appropriate inventory level of repair parts within prescribed guidelines.
  • Prepare quotations/estimates for repairs based on established guidelines.
  • Use available cleaning solvents, degreasers, and other cleaning agents to clean work prior to soldering, assembly or other process as required.
  • Operate real‑time oscilloscope, digital multimeter, frequency counter, signal generator, phase meter, digital voltmeter, frequency and pulse generators, power supplies, special AC test fixtures, and other electronic equipment and hand tools such as a soldering iron.
  • Set‑up test fixtures in accordance with established procedures to enable the proper testing of a given assembly.
  • Rework, repair and modify products as specified by Engineering Change Orders to redesign, correct work and/or perform model changes when needed.

  • Report any quality problems or defects to management for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
  • Documented electronics technical training (certification or schooling) or 1+ years of equivalent experience in a similar or related role.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting theory and experience.
  • Ability to visualize color and perception due to close, exacting work and color coding of materials.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and manipulative skills necessary to perform required duties.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement verbal and/or written instructions, requirements, procedures, and specifications in relation to the task to be performed.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Experience utilizing test equipment, identifying components, and soldering.
  • Use of computer: 50%.
