POSITION

SUMMARY

Zetec is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise server environments, Active Directory, and related infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will ensure system reliability, security compliance, and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. This position requires a hands‑on professional who thrives in a collaborative, small‑team environment and can balance independent work with team support.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Administer and maintain Windows Active Directory environments.
  • Manage Windows Server 2016 and newer, including Domain Controllers, DNS, certificates, and user authentication.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Manage IT inventory, deployment, and patching tools.
  • Ensure adherence to security standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Administer backup environments, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and implement new technologies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and keep it current.
  • Create and document process improvements.
  • Support helpdesk tickets and provide backup coverage for team members.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal users.
  • Perform after-hrs work as needed.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and company.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • In‑depth knowledge of Windows server environments and Active Directory
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a small team environment and backup other roles.
  • Solid knowledge of server virtualization using VMWare, Hyper‑V, Morpheus, or other hypervisors
  • Solid knowledge of server and application security best practices
  • Cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems or other technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Technical experience working with server systems (virtual and cloud), Active Directory, business applications, O365 including Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange
  • Experience using helpdesk software
  • Veeam experience preferred
  • Cybersecurity experience preferred
  • Experience with cloud storage a plus
  • Illumio and/or Crowdstrike experience a plus
  • Specific trainings and certifications a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
