Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor – Welding is responsible for managing the welding production area to meet policy, leadership, quality, on‑time, and efficiency performance goals. This role is critical to delivering high‑quality products on time and supports welding employees while developing their welding skillset. Includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

• Establish and manage welding cell priorities to support the overall production schedule.
• Directly oversee production personnel activities, including timekeeping, workflow, welding methods, and workforce utilization.
• Provide daily status updates for in‑process work in welding and assigned areas.
• Ensure the flow of materials, parts, and welds meets on‑time requirements.
• Supervise employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Enforce policy, conduct performance appraisals, and provide leadership.
• Communicate with employees to reward and discipline as required.
• Partner with local human resources to interview, hire, and train employees.
• Administer and assess periodic welding and finishing tests to maintain proficiency.
• Update MDI boards and troubleshoot NCRs; initiate corrective actions to resolve NCRs.
• Lead Process‑Based Management activities and explore efficiency opportunities.
• Collaborate with the quality team and cross‑functional employees to implement efficiency and capacity improvements.
• Operate all equipment per SOP in a safe manner and create new SOPs as required.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal team members and external customers.
• Support other production areas as backup to other supervisors when needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in welding, manufacturing, business, or supply chain preferred; associate or 2‑year technical degree in welding highly preferred.
• WABO certification or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of finish welding experience, with at least 2 years of formal supervision/team leadership experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and thin gauge welding techniques required.
• Proficiency with sanding and grinding techniques required.
• Experience with aluminum and/or metal finishing required; stainless steel preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage personal and team workload and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Independent judgment and initiative.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with close attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to follow all safety requirements and keep the work area clean and orderly.

• Intermediate user of standard computer application software (MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works regularly in an assembly plant/warehouse environment that may be dusty, with moderate to loud noise and exposure to welding operations. The role requires manual handling of heavy objects (up to 70 lbs, occasionally 100 lbs), standing, stooping, walking, twisting, bending, and using overhead work or forklifts. Personal protective equipment is required and provided.

The employee must work rapidly for long periods under time pressure, communicate and interact with others, and manage multiple concurrent tasks. Forty or more hours per week may be necessary to achieve performance objectives.
