NDT Technician

Job Summary

Perform moderate to complex production, analysis, test, calibration, and repair of electronic instruments and mechanical equipment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyze, diagnose, produce, and troubleshoot instruments and/or equipment. Perform necessary steps to ready equipment for shipment to customer. Communicate with customers to understand failure mechanisms, as required.
  • Read schematics, data books, and troubleshoot to component level.
  • Professionally represent Zetec while travelling to customer sites in support of equipment. Duties may include technical support, repairs, and calibration of Zetec equipment and direct interface with customer.
  • Perform installations, electrical and mechanical repairs, and overall systems troubleshooting in a radiological controlled environment, as required.
  • Comply with Zetec Calibration Program Requirements.
  • Make suggestions to Engineering Department to improve the fabrication or function of the equipment and/or checkout of the equipment.
  • Complete certification letters and stickers at time of equipment calibration.
  • Provide training to customers on calibration and repair of Zetec manufactured equipment.
  • Provide training to others.
  • Support new product development.
  • Assist Sustaining Engineering with validation testing due to design changes.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and safe working conditions.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles. Be fully engaged and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Intermediate PC proficiency using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to run proprietary software on PC's and workstations.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and employ effective time management skills.
  • Ability to solder surface mounted electronic components and cables.
  • Must be a self-starter; works independently without supervision.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • AA degree in Instrumentation technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (3) year experience in an electronics technician role.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Ability to pass Eddy Current Level I certification within first 180 days of employment required.
  • Other Eddy Current Certifications (e.g. Level II, IIA, III, QDA), desired.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements

  • Able to perform essential duties of the job while wearing PPE required for the job. Such PPE may include closed toe and closed heel shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, toe guards, face shields, etc.
Travel
  • Travel as needed (up to 10%).
