Internship Opportunity
Expand on your education and improve your community as an unpaid intern or unpaid practicum student with Sound! Sound offers various mental health and substance use disorder services to clients at several locations in the East region of the Greater Seattle area.
Our East region consists of three locations and various different programs:
- Bel-Red
- Adult Services & Child and Family Services - Redmond
- Adult Services & Child and Family Services - Snoqualmie
- Adult Services & Child and Family Services
Interns will be exposed to training and learning opportunities to best understand the work in community mental health, learn about a wide range of mental health conditions, work with a diverse population, people with a documented disability, serious mental illness (SMI), and people of diverse cultural backgrounds. Interns will shadow and observe other clinicians in different roles and grow and develop their own counseling skills as they begin to work with clients to meet their needs.
Interns will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working with medical providers, community supports (including DCYF, JRA, DV advocates, and school staff), and other clinicians supporting the family to provide strengths-based, client-centered care.
QualificationsInternship Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently in graduate school program (Master Level).
- Four quarter or two semester minimum commitment.
- Minimum 20-24 hours per week with a stable and reliable schedule. School vacations are not considered placement holidays, must be coordinated with your supervisor; and all time off must be pre-approved by the supervisor.
