Role Overview
As the Owner's representative, this position will oversee the civil and structural aspects of a solar plant construction project. The role is responsible for ensuring the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor adheres to all safety, quality, schedule, and performance expectations as defined by the scope of work and contractual commitments. This position provides critical technical support, monitors contractor performance, and contributes to the overall pre-construction preparation for energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review safety documents, policies, contract documents, and civil/mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is installed and maintained per permit requirements.
- Attend EPC safety meetings, craft tailgates, and management meetings.
- Perform daily field walks and observations with field crews to monitor progress and adherence to standards.
- Conduct QA/QC inspections and walkdowns on construction activities.
- Monitor and complete QA/QC inspections in Unifier according to frequency and activity completion.
- Track and manage open action items and punch lists to ensure timely resolution.
- Support route development and refinement through field visits to verify conditions for pre-construction preparation.
- Provide strategic oversight for project execution, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimizing project decisions.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of industrial experience in civil and structural construction is required. Experience managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects is necessary.
Technical
Skills:
Candidates must have the ability to comprehend construction drawings and prints. Proficiency with computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry, and file uploads is required.
Other
Skills:
This role requires skills in people management, organization, scheduling, planning, and progress reporting. Strong communication abilities for interacting with contractor management and third parties are essential.
Work Environment
This position is located on a construction site for the duration of the project. Driving will be required as part of the position duties. Travel within the US is expected at approximately 25%.
