The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of gas processing facilities, ensuring all plant systems perform according to operational standards and customer specifications. This role monitors and controls inlet gas streams, processing equipment, and customer delivery systems while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements. The Plant Operator works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), and Plant Management teams to optimize plant performance, maximize equipment reliability, and support continuous operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate gas processing equipment and associated plant systems to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Control and optimize inlet gas processing and customer delivery streams in accordance with operational procedures and customer specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections, equipment rounds, and operational checks to identify abnormalities and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding plant performance, delivery specifications, and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians, I&E Technicians, Plant Managers, and fellow Operators to troubleshoot issues and maintain plant uptime.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and operational reviews.
  • Prepare equipment and systems for startup, shutdown, maintenance, rig-up, and rig-down activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, logs, maintenance documentation, and shift reports.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance programs and support equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to operational issues as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience operating process equipment in the oil and gas industry or a related industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of oil and gas processing operations and industry safety standards.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain operational records, maintenance logs, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
  • Ability to work safely in industrial and potentially hazardous environments.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Ability to travel locally and operate company vehicles to perform equipment inspections and site rounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CO₂ gas processing facilities and related operations.
  • Knowledge of gas separation membrane systems.
  • Understanding of process control systems and plant automation.
  • Previous experience in natural gas processing, compression, or treating facilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience within industrial operations.
Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk long distances, lift equipment, and perform physical tasks associated with plant operations.
  • Ability to enter customer facilities and operational sites while complying with all site-specific safety requirements.
  • Ability to respond effectively to operational emergencies and changing plant conditions.
