GENERAL
Position Overview:
The inpatient Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, to prepare, compound and distribute medications across the hospital. Responsibilities include restocking the Pyxis, preparing IV sterile products, managing floor stock, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to guarantee safe medication delivery.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Previous experience in a hospital setting is highly desired.
CertificationPTCB certification and current Texas registration as required by the State of Texas.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of electronic medical records systems (EMRs) and other automated systems; strong mathematical calculation skills for dosing.
Personality / Interpersonal SkillsAppreciation of and the desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care.
