Western Texas College invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our Athletics Division. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated, student-centered athletic trainer who is passionate about supporting student-athlete success while gaining meaningful hands-on experience in collegiate athletics. The Assistant Athletic Trainer plays a vital role in providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for NJCAA student-athletes.
Working closely with coaches, student trainers, and healthcare providers, the successful candidate will contribute to a culture that prioritizes student well-being, performance, and development. This position is especially well suited for newly certified athletic trainers seeking strong mentorship, leadership opportunities, and valuable collegiate experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.
- NATA Licensure Preferred
- Licensed Athletic Trainer in Texas, or eligible for licensure
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development and well-being
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational, clinical, and decision-making skills
