JOB OVERVIEW- Service Setting: Hospital / Clinic
- Coverage Type: Clinical + Call (Socorro) and Call Only (Ruidoso)
- Coverage Period: August 2026 – Ongoing
Socorro
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM clinic
- 24-hour beeper call only
- 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- 20-minute response time
- Weekday callback approximately 10%; weekend callback approximately 20%
- August 5 – August 7, 2026
- August 20 – August 23, 2026
- August 25 – August 28, 2026

- Additional ongoing coverage for provider PTO
- Obstetric and Gynecologic patients
- Low- and high-risk obstetrics
- Routine gynecology and surgical gynecology
- Labor & Delivery coverage
- Emergency OB and GYN consultations
- Less than 15 clinic patients per day
- Approximately 2 gynecologic surgeries per week
- Admissions, rounding, and phone consults included
- Hospital and outpatient clinic
- Epic EMR
- Support includes 2 OB/GYN physicians, RN, MA, and C-section assist
- Hospital-based practice
- Level I Well Baby Nursery
- Onsite laboratory services
- Low- and high-risk pregnancy management
- VBACs
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
- Level I & II OB ultrasound interpretation (preferred)
Gynecologic surgery including:
- D&C
- Hysterectomy
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Tubal ligation
- Ectopic pregnancy surgery
- Oophorectomy
- Cystectomy
- Adhesiolysis
- Bowel injury repair
- Infertility procedures
- Incontinence procedures
- Major operative gynecologic surgery
- Active New Mexico license or ability to obtain
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN (ABOG eligible if applicable)
- Active DEA
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum one year of experience
- Current case logs meeting hospital privileging requirements
- OB/GYN residency trained
- Ability to obtain hospital privileges
- Must satisfy immunization and drug screening requirements
- 50 vaginal deliveries within the past 12 months
- 20 Cesarean sections within the past 12 months
- 25 gynecologic surgical procedures, including at least 5 major abdominal cases
- Provide outpatient OB/GYN clinic services (Socorro)
- Provide weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage
- Manage routine and high-risk obstetric patients
- Perform vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, VBACs, and gynecologic surgery
- Evaluate obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
- Respond to beeper call within required response times
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, Maternal/Infant services, and hospital personnel to provide high-quality patient care
- Temporary privileges may be available for clean files (Ruidoso)
- Credentialing approximately 90 days
- Drug screen within 14 days of start
- Immunization requirements apply
