Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronic Technician 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Socorro, NM. Our team in Socorro, NM manufactures and tests 120mm tank ammunition. This is a field laboratory position.
Please note this position may be filled at the Technician 2 or Technician 3 level depending on the candidate’s education and/or years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment.
Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
Installs upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
Will be responsible for writing reports for both customers and internal management.
Performs routine maintenance, teardown, inspection and rebuild of gun mount and cannon.
Manufactures 120mm tank ammo training rounds in our Load Assembly and Pack (LAP) facility.
Works independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Attends Ammo 62 Haz Mat Shippers Course & receives certification within the first year of employment.
Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for Electronic Technician 2:
High School diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience.To qualify for Electronic Technician 3:
High School diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience.Ability to travel domestically & internationally if needed.
Test Equipment experience such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and power meter is desired.
Ability to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
Electronic experience.
As a responsible party to ATF, obtain coverage under Safe Explosive Act as employee possessor/responsible person upon starting.
Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, or be eligible to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a standing position for extended time periods.
Desired Qualifications:
Associates degree in a technical field.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Mechanical aptitude/experience.
Previous experience working closely with Test and Manufacturing engineers.
Previous experience working with inventory control and database systems.
Knowledge or experience with Lab View.
Experience in a manufacturing or test environment using common tools.
Knowledge or experience with explosives or energetic assembly and test.
Salary Range: $44,500 - $74,100
Salary Range 2: $51,500 - $85,900
