Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room in Socorro, New Mexico.
Job SummaryOperating Room (OR) Nurse in Socorro, New Mexico. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. This position involves utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The role also includes clinical supervision responsibilities and collaboration with the healthcare team to meet patient needs throughout perioperative care.

- Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
- Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
- Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
- Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
- Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
- Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- At least one 13-week travel assignment.
- Two (2) years current experience in a small perioperative setting with Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience.
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience.
- Ability to train on-site.
- 4×10-hour days, varied shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- 10-hour shifts, rotating shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
