Registered Nurse Emergency

As a Registered Nurse Emergency, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You’ll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department and the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
• Use established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
• Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, supporting an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
• Teach patients/families/caregivers about the medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures.
• Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Educate patients/families/caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or RN Diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience as an RN in an emergency setting.
• No travel required.
