PositionSummary
- Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designated Charge Nurse, assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit during designated shifts.
- Collaborates with the management team to assess and improve the quality of patient care services.
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates, and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and the health care team.
- Required Licensure / Certifications
- Texas or Compact State Nursing License
- ACLS Certification
- BCLS Certification
- PALS Certification within 6 months of hire
- Required Education / Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PICU preferred
- Leadership and management experience preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date (RN)
- Medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health and telemedicine services
