Position

Summary
  • Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designated Charge Nurse, assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit during designated shifts.
  • Collaborates with the management team to assess and improve the quality of patient care services.
  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates, and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and the health care team.
Qualifications
  • Required Licensure / Certifications
    • Texas or Compact State Nursing License
    • ACLS Certification
    • BCLS Certification
    • PALS Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Required Education / Experience
    • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PICU preferred
    • Leadership and management experience preferred
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date (RN)
