Job Summary
Operations Support: responsible for controlling freight forwarding shipments into and out of the station across various modes of transportation based on customer requests. The primary focus is providing high‑level operations excellence and a quality customer service experience to all customers.
Responsibilities- Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
- Inspecting inbound/outbound freight
- Handling customer service calls and delivering excellent customer service
- Coordinating recovery and delivery schedules with various cartage agents
- Contracting new carriers and assigning carriers, providing load tenders
- Preparing paperwork for routing, closing out files, and sending documentation on time
- Communicating freight status and problems to other stations and customers, updating the system
- Coordinating pick‑ups for customers
- Adhering to TSA/KSMS and other regulatory compliance standards for booking and routing
- Data entry of shipments into transportation management system
- Quoting, costing and invoicing of international shipments (air, ocean, ground)
- Other duties as assigned
- Multi‑tasking while maintaining precise attention to detail
- Negotiation abilities and ability to close independently from management oversight
- Financial acumen and experience with invoicing and payables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Typing speed of 35+ words per minute
- Ability to work in a demanding, high‑volume environment especially with email and calls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Tech savvy
Previous customer service or operations experience preferred – 1 year experience.
