Office Administrator/ Coordinator
About the Position
Samuel Lawrence Foundation is seeking a reliable, organized, and articulate Administrative Assistant to join our small nonprofit team.
This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking on different responsibilities. In addition to supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of the Foundation, you will have opportunities to assist with environmental issues, scientific research, community outreach, meetings, and special projects.
Our office is a casual, friendly, and interesting residential‑office environment, and we are looking for someone who is dependable, curious, willing to learn, and happy to wear many different hats.
Responsibilities- Assist with day‑to‑day administrative and office operations
- Manage calendars and schedule appointments, meetings, and conference calls
- Respond to emails and correspondence
- Draft and edit letters, emails, and other communications
- Conduct online research and gather information
- Assist with environmental and scientific research projects
- Help prepare materials for meetings and presentations
- Identify, contact, and maintain relationships with community organizations and community members
- Assist with communications and outreach to elected officials and other stakeholders
- Attend meetings and take accurate notes
- Track assignments, deadlines, and follow‑up items
- Organize and maintain donation records
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized and dependable
- A strong written and verbal communicator
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Able to work independently and follow through on assignments
- Detail‑oriented and task‑focused
- Comfortable with computers and technology
- A quick learner who can adapt to changing priorities
- Resourceful and willing to take initiative
- Comfortable wearing many different hats
- Interested in learning about environmental and community issues
- Familiar with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and similar platforms
- Experience working in an administrative or office position
- Experience with a nonprofit organization
- Interest or background in science, environmental issues, public policy, or community outreach
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree
A science background is helpful but is not required.
$26/hour
