Santa Fe Christian Schools is seeking a passionate, qualified Academic Support Program (ASP) Teacher for the school year.
In this role, you will work with small groups of students who have diagnosed learning differences and/or attention deficits. Your goal will be to help students reach their full potential by providing targeted learning strategies, study skills training, direct intervention, and specialized tutoring. The ideal candidate will be able to tutor, provide instructional support, and mentor high school students in Math, Science, and Writing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a curriculum and lesson plans that will foster knowledge and skills essential to teaching students in the Middle and High School grades effectively
- Create individualized learning strategies, study skills training, direct intervention, organizational tools, and specialized remedial tutoring in necessary academic subjects
- Demonstrate concepts using models, technology, apps, assistive technology, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids
- Evaluate each student's weekly progress in the completion of assessments for each of their classes
- Communicate with parents to discuss individual students' progress
- Advocate for students and manage their school-approved accommodations, collaborating with their general education teachers and serving as a resource consultant with classroom teachers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, or related field a plus
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience at the Middle or High School Level, including tutoring
- An encouraging personality that is creative and flexible
- Highly organized with the ability to work and communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents
- Interest in contributing to the school community outside of the classroom as a student advisor, proctor, or otherwise preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the US
The base compensation range is dependent on prior experience and education:$55,500-$120,000 per year.
