Preschool Teacher

Sandy Hill School is a play-based, Reggio-inspired preschool nestled in the heart of Solana Beach. Our program is located mainly in an outdoor environment; rooted in connection, curiosity, and community. The school is a family friendly environment where parents are deeply involved in the experience. We believe children learn best through hands‑on exploration and meaningful relationships with their environment, teachers, and peers.

We are seeking an educator who feels aligned with the heart of our work; someone who sees early childhood education as more than a job, but as meaningful, purpose driven work. • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum inspired by children's interests and curiosities
• Foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports independence, collaboration and self-expression
• Observe, document, and reflect on children's learning to guide planning and communicate growth to families
• Partner with co-teachers and administrators to create a cohesive and positive school culture
• Build strong, respectful relationships with families through consistent and open communication
• Maintain compliance with licensing regulations and uphold Sandy Hill's commitment to safety and high-quality care
• Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative team environment

• Minimum of 12 ECE units required; AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
  preferred
• Experience working with preschool aged children (2-5 years old) in a play-based or Reggio-inspired setting
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice and positive guidance strategies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
