Opportunity
Experienced National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) planner and project manager who can guide projects through the federal environmental permitting processes—from constraints analysis and scoping through regulatory consultations to environmental certification (FONSI or ROD). Full‑time position reporting to Stantec’s Solana Beach, CA office. Position eligible for a remote hybrid work arrangement.

- Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines.
- Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Position requires a pre‑employment drug screen (preferred).
- Experience with environmental analysis and permitting for military projects (Navy, Marine Corps, Air National Guard, Coast Guard, Air Force, etc.) or projects for other federal government entities on federally‑owned lands.
- Oversee preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal and state agencies for a variety of project types/sizes.
- Manage the project or task team (office‑ and field‑based) and their assignments, deliverables, files, and administrative record; safety program, sub‑consultants and their contracting process; client expectations; and monitor and review project contracts, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Community/Urban Planning or a closely related field.
- Master’s Degree in any of the fields described above preferred.
- Minimum six years of related work experience, with demonstrated task‑lead experience.
- Ability to obtain IAW NISPOM security clearance.
