Stantec GS has an opportunity for a full-time Analyst who will specialize in aviation and military training-related issues in support of various planning projects in support of Department of Defense and other clients. The person who fills this position will play an integral part in helping support our nationwide Department of Defense planning programs. Working in a team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to site visits, data collection, and analysis of impacts and use of Special Use Airspace, training areas, ranges, and other military operations on non-DOD or non-Federal property for environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, encroachment, planning, and other associated studies CONUS and OCONUS.
This position will provide important support to planning documentation evaluating potential effects from U.S. military training programs. The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in United States. Certain assignments may require ability to obtain a security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data and information related to military training, systems, and technologies to optimize training capacity and safety.
- Analyze requirements for new aviation platforms and contribute to basing feasibility analyses in terms of airspace management, operational factors, logistics, and technology. Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to airspace management.
- Ability to interface and interact with military pilots to translate operational requirements for documentation in environmental, regulatory, and noise analyses.
- Provide support in the development of airspace redesign proposals and air traffic/airspace management strategies.
- Review and interpret airspace and training area utilization data, schedules, and traffic flow to identify potential improvements or bottlenecks.
- Prepare and present reports on airspace usage, traffic patterns, and optimization recommendations.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of military training technologies and trends.
- Provide expert input to teams supporting planning for military training and training facilities to include live-fire ranges.
- Utilizing military doctrine and training syllabi, provide expert assistance to teammates from other technical disciplines so that they better understand military clients’ requirements.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations, and presentation delivery.
- Provide analytical support to various planning projects
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure the feasibility and success of team projects.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate potential risks
- Assist with budget planning and cost projections.
- Project Management.
- Ability to obtain FAAST MACA training certification from the FAA for mid-air collision training if necessary.
