Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Current Openings Include
  • Two secondary intensive needs teaching assignments (grades 9–post secondary, self-contained, caseload ~10)
  • One middle school intensive needs role (grades 6–8, self-contained, caseload ~10)
  • One unique half-time special education/half-time general education position in an elementary multi-grade classroom at a remote, fly-in school—ideal for educators craving adventure and community impact
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field
  • Valid Alaska Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience educating students with intensive needs highly desirable
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Flexibility and a collaborative mindset are essential, especially for roles with variable or combined responsibilities
  • Experience working in self-contained and inclusive settings preferred
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with a range of abilities
  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in both self-contained and general education environments
  • Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, families, and related service providers
  • Foster supportive, inclusive classroom communities that promote growth and achievement for all learners
  • Track progress, maintain documentation, and participate in relevant meetings
