You will Independently process and store evidence for AST A Detachment, maintain chain of custody and integrity of evidence, and complete transfer and disposition of property via destruction, forfeiture to State Surplus, or return to owners. You will act as a liaison between AST and the District Attorney’s office to ensure timely and accurate responses to requests for discovery.

As a member of DPS, you will be instrumental in ensuring this mission is met by providing direct support for law enforcement activities focusing on evidence integrity, chain of custody, and processing.

You will be working with a team of both commissioned law enforcement officers and civilian employees who are dedicated to serving the public and upholding the mission and values of the Department of Public Safety. You will be doing meaningful work that truly makes a difference to the citizens of Alaska. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM.

This position is fast-paced and busy. Office space is shared with one other Criminal Justice Technician, and your work area will also include secure evidence storage locations on site (both indoors and outdoors. This position also may require occasional / infrequent travel to AST posts in Anchor Point or Seward.
