Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care facility in Alaska, requiring a minimum of 3 years of Med/Surg experience and an active AK RN license.

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS, PEARS, and HS AED
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills essential
• COVID vaccination or signed declination form required for all staff

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit with 31 beds
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• EMR:
  Epic (required); medication dispensing via Pyxis
• Equipment used includes Meditech and OBIX
• 8-week contract
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Provides individualized, goal‑directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with hospital policies and standards of practice
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Orientation includes Meditech and OBIX training over 3 days, plus unit‑specific orientation
• Medication testing must be completed within the first two weeks on site
• Pre‑assignment modules must be completed before the start date
• Unvaccinated staff are required to wear masks while on site
• Candidates with any previous employment at this facility must disclose it for a do‑not‑return (DNU) check
