Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Alaska
Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have recent LDRP experience and be comfortable managing patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care while providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care.
The RN will be responsible for delivering individualized care using the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, and ensuring safe outcomes for both mother and newborn.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal monitoring equipment.
- Assist with labor management, vaginal deliveries, and emergency situations.
- Provide newborn care and support breastfeeding education.
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia providers, and ancillary staff.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required by unit needs.
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
- Fetal monitoring systems
- Automated medication dispensing systems
- Bedside fetal monitoring equipment
- Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting
- Approximately 4 LDRP rooms and postpartum/newborn care services
- Patient ratios based on national labor and delivery standards and patient acuity
- Scrubs provided by the facility

Requirements- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
- Current BLS Certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
- Current STABLE Certification
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
- COVID-19 Vaccination (if required by facility)
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
