Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – FM Service Provider | Commercial Building | Croydon | £45,000 + Package

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at a prestigious commercial building in Croydon, Surrey. Working as part of a close-knit on-site team of three engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across the building.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Facilities Management and a proven track record in mechanical building maintenance. The Package

Basic salary of up to £45,000

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday | 08:00 – 17:00

Key

Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain mechanical plant equipment
Carry out work on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings
Service and maintain air conditioning systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs) — filter changes, cleaning, and general upkeep
Conduct water treatment checks, including temperature monitoring (non-dosing)
Undertake plumbing tasks such as unblocking drains and toilets, replacing taps, washers, and general pipework repairs
Monitor and respond to BMS (Building Management System) alarms and readings
Carry out basic electrical duties, including lamp replacements
Maintain general building fabric and carry out minor repairs
Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors on site

Requirements

Mechanical qualification — City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent (Essential)
Ability to provide copies of relevant trade certificates
Proven track record in commercial building maintenance
Multi-skilled with a flexible, can-do approach
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues
Confident working in a client-facing environment
