Accounting Specialist
A fast-growing company is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support financial operations tied to active projects. This is a highly visible role where accuracy, critical thinking, and collaboration play a key part in supporting project execution and financial integrity.
If you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep projects running smoothly, take pride in clean and accurate data, and like solving puzzles within invoices and project details—this role offers a strong long-term home and could be the fit for you.
This role sits at the intersection of accounting, operations, and project execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and process invoices tied to construction jobs, materials, and vendor services
- Ensure proper allocation of costs by coding expenses to the correct projects and accounts
- Analyze invoices against bids, contracts, and purchase details to confirm accuracy
- Identify inconsistencies (pricing, quantities, or scope) and work cross-functionally to resolve them
- Manage and input job-related documentation, including material tickets and vendor records, within the ERP system (Vista)
- Partner with purchasing and operations teams to validate data and keep projects financially aligned
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and ensure transactions are accurately captured
- Assist with ad hoc accounting or operational tasks as business needs evolve
We're looking for someone who is detail-driven but also comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment:
- Exposure to Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting processes (internship or professional experience)
- Experience in construction or project-based environments is helpful, but not required
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to getting things right the first time
- Natural problem-solver who enjoys investigating discrepancies and finding solutions
- Comfortable using Excel for basic data tracking and reconciliation
- Ability to learn new systems and workflows quickly (Vista experience is a plus)
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
Top performers in this role tend to:
- Take ownership of their work and follow through on open items
- Stay organized while managing multiple invoices and priorities
- Ask questions and proactively clarify details when information is unclear
- Adapt quickly in a growing business where processes continue to evolve
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
Work Environment:
- Small, close-knit team of approximately 10–11 employees
- Laid-back, collaborative culture where communication is open and informal
- Flexible start times (generally between 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
