Construction & Pre-Construction Co-Op Position

Overview

The Construction & Pre-Construction Co-Op Position provides college students with hands‑on experience in commercial construction. In this role, you will work closely with the project management team as well as our estimating department and gain understanding of the demands of the industry.

• Review project design drawings and specifications to define scopes and identify bid packages
• Assist in preparing estimates, issue invitations to bid, follow up with potential bidders, and track responses
• Participate in construction document management, including RFIs, submittals, change order requests, and schedules
• Attend preconstruction and construction meetings as requested and keep detailed notes to share with the team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn construction estimating and execution
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in, or willing to learn, Procore
• Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another as needed by supervisors
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in civil engineering, construction management, or a related architectural/engineering field
• Strong interest in preconstruction, construction with a desire to build a career in construction

As part of your employment, an initial pre‑employment drug and alcohol test is required, followed by company‑wide annual and random drug and alcohol testing throughout the duration of your employment.
