Construction Inspector (Seasonal) - Engineering DepartmentThe Solon Engineering Department is accepting applications for a Seasonal Construction Inspector.
This position acts as a field representative of the Construction Department and will perform the following duties:
Inspection of private work, which has been permitted or approved by the Engineering Department;
Inspection of municipal improvement, repair, and maintenance projects, which fall within the jurisdiction of the Engineering and Construction Departments to ensure that all materials and work conform to contract requirements. Perform inspections of any construction or maintenance activities being performed in the right‑way.
The following are the minimum qualifications required to apply for the Seasonal Construction Inspector position:
- Ability to read civil engineering blueprints.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations relating to construction, inspection, safety, and traffic control.
- Ability to communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing to contractors, developers, property owners, employees, consultants, and other government representatives.
- Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain inspection field and office data, reports, and systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
This position offers a starting range of $25.1748 - $30.2098/hour.
