Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with experience in custom equipment design and full project lifecycle management. This individual will play a key role in engineering, managing, and delivering mechanical systems. From concept through commissioning, this role is responsible for CAD design, technical leadership, coordination with internal teams, and direct customer engagement.

Responsibilities

* Lead full lifecycle execution of complex custom equipment projects.

* Own mechanical system design including advanced and integrated systems.

* Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers.

* Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and technical risk.

* Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, fabrication, controls, and service.

* Lead equipment testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning efforts.

* Establish and enforce engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.

* Contribute to product/platform standardization and continuous improvement.

* Leads multiple or high-complexity projects independently.

* Mentors and develops junior engineers and designers.

* Drives technical decision-making and problem resolution.

* Interfaces with leadership on project status, risk, and resource planning.

* Contributes to sales support (concepting, estimating, technical proposals).

Essential Skills

* 5+ years of experience in OEM design, machine design, or equipment design.

* Proficiency in Solid Works or AutoCAD Inventor.

* Experience in reading and generating prints.

* Previous project management experience.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Calculations capabilities to solve complex systems (structural loading, drive size, conveyance systems, etc.).

* Sizing water pumps, gear motors, and cylinders.

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

* Experience with standard fabrication methods.

* Hydraulic/pneumatic and/or light industrial electrical experience required.

Work Environment

The work environment is a standard office environment attached to manufacturing. The team operates on a hybrid schedule with three days remote and two days onsite. The work culture is laid-back and friendly, with a team of six other engineers. Some Fridays off are offered, provided work is completed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Solon, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
