Engineering Program Manager (Contract to Hire)

, who is actively searching for an experienced Engineering Program Manager to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to $40 per hour on a contract-to-hire basis, with the potential to reach up to $80K annually once converted to a permanent position

This opportunity suits a client-oriented engineering leader capable of guiding initiatives from early-stage prototyping through full-scale production, while partnering closely with internal engineering, quality, and manufacturing groups as well as external customers. The role carries significant visibility, with exposure to complex regulated programs across multiple industries and roughly 15% travel involved.
Requirements of the Engineering Program Manager:
- Prior background collaborating directly with clients in a technical or program-oversight capacity
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Comfortable operating across engineering, production, quality, and client-facing groups
- Willingness to travel roughly 15% of the time
- A minimum of 5 years in an engineering role within a regulated manufacturing setting such as medical device, aerospace, or industrial production
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline; a background in Electrical Engineering is preferred
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Altium, Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
- Background in electrical circuit design, analysis, or troubleshooting is a plus
- Solid command of Microsoft Office applications
Responsibilities of the Engineering Program Manager:
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts and program initiatives
- Handle client-facing communication involving scheduling, development needs, production concerns, RMAs, root-cause reviews, and corrective action follow-up
- Guide new product introduction efforts from the prototype stage through full production launch
- Assess client specifications, engineering revisions, and manufacturing issues, and share findings with relevant internal teams
- Track program timelines to help ensure client expectations and production targets are consistently met
- Build and maintain assembly documentation, device history records, tooling requirements, and process workflows
- Assist with initial production training and floor-level rollout support
- Work alongside Test Engineering to build, install, maintain, and qualify test equipment as needed
- Lead PFMEA and Value Stream Mapping efforts, and help prepare or update project quotes and Statements of Work
- Support as needed
