Resident Assistant

Role Description

This is a part-time, 2-year contract, on-site role as a Resident Assistant. The Resident Assistant is responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with providing care and support to individuals with disabilities. The Resident Assistant will assist with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and assist with community engagement opportunities for the neighborhood. The Resident Assistant will have regularly scheduled hours and on-call hours to help provide a layer of support to the community from being a friend and comforting face to filling in hours in a direct care role, as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge on working with individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide emotional support.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• High school diploma required.
• Working towards a college degree or post-grad work in the areas of Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Education-Intervention, Human Services Social Sciences, or similar relevant degree preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Able to pass Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Must be able to pass background check and standards as outlined in OAC 109.572.
• Ability to obtain independent provider certification through Ohio Department of
• Developmental Disabilities (any expenses in doing so will be covered by SCL).

Pay and Benefits

• $20/hr. for on-duty hours.
• Room and board included tax-free (utilities included except for phone/cable/internet), for duration of contract.
• Schedule flexibility to work around collegiate requirements, as needed.
