Spring Hill Suites® by Marriott Cleveland/Solo is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join their housekeeping team!
A Housekeeping Supervisor oversees and supervises cleaning personnel and inspects hotel guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors and lobbies, performing the following duties. The supervisor is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper with the overall cleanliness of the hotel, including rooms and public areas.
- Maintains cleanliness standards for both guest rooms and public areas and inspects them to ensure that standards are met.
- Records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies.
- Trains or re‑trains staff on proper housekeeping procedures when needed.
- In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, is responsible for the housekeeping department supervision.
- Supervises employees in the housekeeping department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Cleans rooms and public areas as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Works typical shifts that include weekends and holidays when required.
- Previous experience in a hotel setting or open to training.
- One year of previous housekeeping experience is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
- Can navigate a cart weighing up to 100 lbs., and lift, carry up to 25 lbs.
