The Business Communications Manager is part of the global corporate communications team. This role is responsible for the effective development and execution of global communication strategies, goals, plans, messaging, and content aligned with Swagelok’s core values, strategic plan, brand standards, and business priorities.

The business communications manager for human resources provides communications counsel to internal partners, develops strategies, and creates global associate-facing communications across a variety of content formats. The role requires strong business acumen, consultative skills, critical thinking, active listening, problem solving abilities, writing, presentation, and storytelling skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal HR stakeholders, including executive and HR leaders, to ensure alignment with the company’s strategy and supporting initiatives.

Develop and implement communication strategies, plans, message maps and programs that enhance associates’ understanding of benefits, compensation, and HR initiatives. Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to deliver communications that inform, excite, engage, and drive action to achieve desired objectives and results. Ensure consistent messaging, tone and branding throughout HR communications in line with the company’s editorial and branding guidelines. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of HR communications through internal metrics and stakeholder insights to optimize communications and identify improvements.

Support the editorial planning process through proactive management of HR communications and provide content as needed for corporate communications-driven initiatives such as executive messages, business results, associate town halls, social media, etc. Manage outside vendor relationships, including identification of appropriate partners, qualification, definition of scope of work, and execution. Provide actionable, constructive feedback to vendors to ensure work is completed on time and on budget.

Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in benefits, compensation, and internal communications to continually improve the effectiveness of our communications strategies.

Assist communications leadership and finance with budget creation and allocations.

Education and Work Experiene Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, or Marketing. Minimum 5 years of related experience in communications including experience working directly with Human Resources and/or corporate Total Rewards partners. …
