* A well-established professional healthcare practice in the Northeast area is looking for a
* Director of Information Technology*. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all technology operations, infrastructure, and strategic IT initiatives within the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technology leader who combines strategic planning capabilities with strong technical expertise and operational execution.
* Position Overview
* The Director of Information Technology will lead the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems administration, telecommunications, vendor management, and technology planning initiatives. This individual will play a key role in evaluating, implementing, and maintaining hardware, software, networking, and electronic practice management systems while ensuring stability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
This position requires both technical proficiency and strong collaboration with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
* Key Responsibilities
* * IT Leadership & Infrastructure Management
* * Oversee all servers, network systems, and technology platforms
* Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware/software solutions and related services
* Lead system implementations and technology upgrades
* Manage and maintain network infrastructure, VPN access, and device connectivity
* Ensure proper backup systems, disaster recovery readiness, and system reliability
* Maintain inventory of all IT assets and network devices
* Systems & Network Administration
* * Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, domain controllers, and database systems
* Support desktop operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access controls
* Provide hands-on technical support for PCs, laptops, printers, and multifunction devices
* Telecommunications & Web Administration
* * Oversee phone systems, mobile device support, IP telephony, and voicemail systems
* Strategic Planning & Vendor Management
* * Collaborate with executive leadership on annual IT budgeting and long-term technology planning
* Participate in EMR and practice management software evaluation and selection
* Review and manage vendor relationships and contracts for cost-effectiveness
* Provide annual budget forecasts and cost projections
* Training & Internal Support
* * Train new employees on systems, network environment, and IT protocols
* Ensure effective communication and smooth operation of all IT-related functions
* Qualifications
* * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience, including network and systems administration
* Strong knowledge of:
* Windows server environments and domain controllers
* Exchange Server administration
* Network configuration and troubleshooting
* Telecommunications systems
* Backup and storage systems
* Experience supporting electronic practice management or EMR systems preferred
* Strong diagnostic xrlwcon and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Professional presence and service-oriented mindset
