Job Description:
Basic Function:
To maintain and control inventory for all maintenance supplies, manuals, and literature through use of computerized maintenance management system. In addition, will routinely assist MRO Buyer in ordering spare parts for equipment, obtaining information for parts replacement, and ordering materials for the maintenance department.
- Develops and maintains spare parts inventory control system including cataloging by equipment, part, and location.
- Utilize computer system to access part numbers, item locations, vendor identification numbers, and vendor contact information, etc.
- Operates light machinery such as shop tools, floor scrubber, etc.
- Issues parts, supplies, and tools to mechanics and is accountable for all items while in tool cage.
- Monitors spare parts inventory to flag unusually high and low levels and reports to appropriate personnel.
- Reviews receipts and packing slips to ensure new parts are received complete and items are warehoused in appropriate locations.
- Maintains files of equipment manuals, parts lists, prints, etc.
- Reviews purchasing requisitions. Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as setting up new vendors, MRO materials, new/replacement equipment, new/replacement tools, new/replacement parts, and supplies. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- May approve invoices for payment upon receipt of goods, based on proper signature approval on PO request.
- Drops off or picks up emergency parts as necessary.
- Performs various other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma/GED with experience in mechanical operations and terminology to disassemble and assemble various machine subassembly parts. Must be computer literate to continuously enter data into computer system. Organized and detail-oriented to maintain inventory integrity.
- Must be able to stand/walk 100% of the working shift, lift 50 or more pounds on a daily basis, and work overtime as required.
- This position requires the use of chemicals that may contain hazardous materials and involves the handling, moving, storage, and/or disposal of waste that may contain hazardous material. Proper training, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) and correct safety practices are required.
- Math skills and reading skills required.
Pay Rate range is $22-$28 depending on experience and work history.
