Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Run and program multiple machines producing a quality product to blueprint specifications.
Key Job Responsibilities- Program, set‑up and operate multiple machines using blueprints or specifications.
- Complete complex computer‑controlled set‑up using the HMI (human‑machine interfaces) to make adjustments to programs or machines. This includes 5‑axis and above plus designing/programming from scratch (may also be working on complex customs).
- Load and off‑load product from multiple machines.
- Gauge product to insure proper dimensions.
- Inspect product to verify visual characteristics and defects.
- Check product samples using assigned inspection tools and record inspection results according to process standards.
- Place product into appropriate racks.
- Separate scrap from good product and document accurately.
- Scan correct production information.
- Maintain tooling used in machines.
- Train new operators when required.
- Troubleshoot quality and machine issues from moderate to complex.
- Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures.
- Deviations in routine handled according to operating procedures and/or work instructions.
- Responsible for following process documents, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and that quantity and style are correct.
- Work to meet daily departmental production goals.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts.
- Must have High School diploma or GED.
- Two‑year technical degree preferred.
Working in environments with varying temperatures and exposure to noise may be required. Some environments may include controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required: safety glasses with side‑shields, safety shoes, gloves, and cut‑resistant gloves when necessary.
Physical DemandsApproximately eight (8) or twelve (12) hours with scheduled break periods. Standing, intermittent walking, reaching, sitting, bending and lifting product weighing no more than thirty‑three (33) pounds. Use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks, to operate machinery, and handle tools safely. Visual acuity is necessary for reading gauges, inspecting products, and ensuring quality standards. Physical stamina and the ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks are essential.
ProblemSolving
Run orders by due date. Follow process documents and inspection standards. Assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standard guidelines. Must inspect and modify tooling as required. Moderate to complex problems solved by operator using learned knowledge of insert style, production processes and in some cases, coordination with technical experts inside and outside of the plant. Recurring problems and major decisions receive supervisor attention.
