Secondary Equipment Technician
Shift: 1st, 7:00am to 3:30pm Starting Pay: $22 to $26 - based on experience
Skills Required:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to interpret and use detailed technical drawings
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use hand tools, including inspection measuring equipment
- Working knowledge of pneumatics
- Basic understanding of plastics processing
- Good vision
- Good attendance
- Skills may be acquired through on-the-job training
- Work independently with minimum supervision
Basic Job Function and Scope:
- Perform duties within the Production department where the primary function is to set-up and provide process support for all secondary production equipment at the assigned plant. This may include, but not limited to, terminal assembly machines and/or knob equipment.
Work Performed:
- Prepare secondary assembly machines for production including: ASCBAM, flat terminal, lugger, knob drill /tap/ream, drill presses, sonic welder hat stamp, paint dispensers and other equipment and fixtures.
- Setup secondary assembly tooling at start of jobs Remove secondary assembly tooling at the end of jobs Ensure that Machine Operators understand production requirements, set-up instructions and safety procedures Obtain molded parts and secondary assembly components/ supplies from inventory. Update molded parts inventory in the computer system.
- Adjust the machine and components to ensure that assembled products conform to customer requirements.
- Clear machine jams and errors.
- Keep machine stocked with components and supplies to ensure united-erupted running Track scrap Evaluate new or EC'd tooling for production compatibility.
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment Accurately complete all appropriate documents Train new employees as required Perform other related tasks as assigned
- Work independently with minimum supervision
- Appropriate use raw materials, secondary assembly materials and components, and maintenance supplies such as solvents and grease.
