PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The CNC Machinist II is responsible for independently operating and setting up CNC equipment to produce precision components that meet quality and production standards. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to make machine adjustments with minimal supervision.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS / SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS REQUIRED:
(must have all)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
- 3 or more years of CNC machining experience
- Proficiency with precision measuring equipment
- Ability to independently perform machine setups and adjustments
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processes
- Experience editing G-code and M-code programs
- Experience with multi-axis machining
- Knowledge of SPC and lean manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environments
