Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced emergency care environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to a wide range of patient conditions and emergencies. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining compliance with established clinical standards and safety protocols.
Job Responsibilities- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans.
- Operate and monitor medical equipment used in emergency care settings.
- Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations while prioritizing patient safety and quality care.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
- Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard clinical equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required throughout the shift.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
