Medical Assistant. Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office. Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments. Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given. Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's degree Preferred.
License: CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
