Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.
Essential Functions- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Required - License: N/A
- Certifications:
Handle with Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire/transfer;
Must be able to successfully pass an arrhythmia exam.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
