How you'll contribute
Provides direct patient care in the surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department
Required Skills
* Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
* Documents patient care provided.
* Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
* Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
* Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
* Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
* Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
* Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
* Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
* Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
* Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
* Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
* Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
* Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
* Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
Education:
* Associate's degree in nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
License and
Certifications:
* License to practice in the state of KY or a current active multistate license
* BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
