Join our team as a Float Nurse where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nurse Assistants. You will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. How you’ll contribute- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice across multiple inpatient units. Demonstrates flexibility to float where needed and collaborate with interprofessional teams to support safe, high‑quality care.
- Performs plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
- Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
- Assesses learning needs; provides age‑and culture‑appropriate patient/family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on‑call assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed:
Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. - Exposure:
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens may be present. - Physical Requirements (typical):
Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing. - Possible exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, gases/vapors/fumes, and latex.
