Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Behavioral Health

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Behavioral Health

Commitment Bonus: $10,000 – two‑year commitment. Nights | Full Time | 6:30‑7:00.

Department/Unit Summary

The Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is an Adult Psych Unit (age 18+) with 22 beds plus 8 overflow beds, and a Geriatric Psych Unit (age 65+). A multimillion‑dollar renovation has improved aesthetics, added ligature points and updated safety features to the latest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of an RN.
  • Understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs.
  • Exercise critical thinking and work well under pressure while maintaining calm and customer focus.
  • Make and document nursing observations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of nursing care plans.
  • Implement assigned aspects of the nursing care plan.
  • Collaborate with RNs and providers.
  • Coordinate patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges with care, service, and business office personnel as requested by RNs.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per scope of practice.
  • Communicate with patients.
  • Provide patients and/or families with instruction and education relevant to their condition, as delegated and supervised by the RN.
  • Set up, utilize, and maintain equipment, supplies, and work area.

What We Are Looking For
  • Education:

    Associate nursing degree from an accredited technical nursing school.
  • License:
    Current LPN license to practice in Kentucky.
  • Certification: BCLS or completion within one week of hire.
